Where do my donations go?
SOLR is a mutual aid organization, and much of our recent work has focused on supporting workers financially during a pandemic that cost many people their livelihoods. Since our inception in Spring 2018, we have distributed more than $140,000 to workers in the form of direct monetary support and resources such as winter clothing, groceries, and PPE.
Why become a monthly donor?
Our mutual aid practice recently shifted to a monthly donation system, where community members become patrons of SOLR and commit to donating a specific amount of money each month. These monthly donations provide consistent support for Northwestern workers and enable us to maintain our mutual aid fund.
What is Open Collective?
We are thrilled to announce that we are now fiscally sponsored by the Open Collective Foundation! This platform acts as a 501(c) 3, meaning your donations are tax deductible. Through Open Collective, you can make a one-time contribution or automate your monthly contributions. Open Collective is dedicated to transparency, so our budget and expenses will always be visible on our page.
